About

Bistro Gerard started when Chef Gerald discovered his passion for food and started supervising the busy kitchen and his two sous-chefs (also known as Mummy and Daddy).

But it wasn’t always like this. Back in the days of his early seed/ apple&banana eating chickhood, Jerry had to fight many fierce battles with alien fruit and vegetable monsters invading his dining space. Just like the great warriors, Jerry approached his edible enemies with amazing courage and outstanding tenacity, and signs of his slain opponents started emerging everywhere.

Having asserted his authority over the vegetable kingdom, Jerry launched into his quest for preparing yummy food and having lots of fun in the process, and sharing his experiences with all those who wish to share the Bistro Gerard adventure.

The French theme associated with Bistro Gerard reflects Jerry's passion for fresh seasonal food, as well as his guilty pleasures (butter, cheese and Champagne). None of which he is allowed to have, Mummy hastens to add, but life wouldn't be much fun without forbidden things every now and then.

Welcome to Bistro Gerard and we hope you enjoy the food and the experience as much as we do, or as Jerry says: Neugh-neugh-neugh

  1. super pics…more please….

    • Hi Jan,
I must admit I’m still a bit camera shy, but I’m working on it as part of my celebrity chef training.
Thank you for visiting my site and stay tuned for more Chef Geraldpics.

  2. Typically how many water-melon slices can you eat in a single sitting?

    • Oh, I never eat too much, and I always leave enough room to sample every single piece of fruit and vegetable that comes through the Bistro Gerard kitchen. It’s not about quantity, it’s all about quality 🙂

  3. Is there any vegetable you don’t enjoy?

Lastly, what mischief can you get up to in the kitchen?

    • Parsnip! Wouldn’t get anywhere near it…

I never get into mischief, it’s just that Mummy and Daddy are sometimes too stringent and spoil all the fun for me 😦 For instance, yesterday I was banned from eating strawberries in the lounge room and splattering them all over the walls -oh, that was so much fun!!!

  4. Parsnips I can easily understand – we’e all agreed on that
    But mischief in the kitchen?
What & where are your favorite spots (fridge, oven, stove, larder)?
Being a baby parrot you must have some close indents?
    Tell us all ………

  5. I have just looked at your blog, looks like a lot of amusement ahead for me when I get to read more, Roz

  9. Hi Jerry! We’re wondering what kind of birdie you are — you’re awfully cute. The photo with you and the broad bean and pea soup? Adorable.
